About the Role

The AI Engineer will explore and build intelligent solutions that improve how Cornerstone understands transaction behaviour, identifies unusual activity, and delivers helpful financial experiences.

Your work may contribute to Cornerstone's analytical tools, internal automation, and AI-assisted customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and prototype transaction behaviour analysis and fraud detection techniques.
  • Support development of responsible, explainable financial behaviour scoring models.
  • Clean, process, and analyse appropriately authorised datasets.
  • Develop prototypes using Python and relevant AI/ML libraries.
  • Help design AI-assisted internal tools and customer support workflows.
  • Evaluate model accuracy, bias, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with backend developers on safe integration approaches.
  • Document assumptions, limitations, testing results, and model performance.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Basic understanding of machine learning, statistics, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or equivalent libraries.
  • Ability to build or explain a practical data science or AI project.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of responsible data handling and privacy.
  • Willingness to learn fintech-specific risk and behavioural analysis.

Expected Contribution

Research findings, tested prototypes, documented evaluation results, and useful insights for product development.
