About the Role

We are seeking a commercially minded and financially disciplined CFO to help Cornerstone build a strong financial foundation as we scale our savings, payments, merchant services, and financial partnerships.

This is a strategic, part-time leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional who understands startup realities and wants to contribute to building a sustainable fintech business. You will work directly with the Founder/CEO on financial planning, business models, fundraising preparation, partner economics, and financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models, budgets, revenue projections, and cash-flow forecasts.
  • Evaluate transaction fees, provider costs, product margins, and unit economics across Cornerstone Save, Collect, and Pay.
  • Prepare financial statements, management reports, and investor-ready financial projections.
  • Support fundraising, financial due diligence, and investor conversations.
  • Establish financial controls and reconciliation oversight for company accounts and partner-reported transactions.
  • Work with licensed financial partners and advisers to understand settlement structures, safeguarding arrangements, and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Advise leadership on profitability, funding requirements, risk management, and sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • A qualification in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
  • ACCA, ICAG, CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
  • Ideally 5+ years of relevant finance experience, including financial leadership, planning, or advisory work.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of fintech, banking, payments, or financial services in Ghana.
  • High standards of confidentiality, integrity, and independent judgment.
  • Availability for periodic strategic meetings and agreed financial deliverables.

Expected Contribution

An operating budget, financial forecasting model, monthly management reporting, and a clear financial growth framework.

This is a fractional, part-time leadership position — not an internship.
